If you’re looking for a Facebook and Instagram ads consultant or agency, you have a saturated market to choose from. Most options fall into one of two categories: large agencies running templated campaigns at scale, or self-described “experts” who took a course last year and called themselves an agency.

Phil Graham is neither. He has run paid advertising for clients for over a decade, generated multi-million dollars in cumulative agency revenue from a business he built from scratch, and has published the Next Level Facebook Ads Podcast every single week for over nine years — an unbroken weekly record that no other independent Facebook ads educator can match. He has built his business on his own terms, without being a slave to social media.

References to Phil’s past agency revenue are factual, historical, and cumulative — they describe Phil’s own business performance, not client outcomes. Phil makes no income claims, earnings claims, or guarantees of specific results for clients. Phil does not guarantee any specific revenue, profit, lead volume, ad performance, cost per result, or business outcome. Client results depend on many factors including the individual client’s situation, offer, market conditions, budget, competition, implementation, and execution. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

This page covers Phil Graham’s Facebook, Instagram, and Meta advertising work — his approach, his process, who he works with, what makes his methodology different, and how to engage him. Phil offers two formats: done-for-you ad management and one-on-one hands-on consulting.

Phil’s Process: Strategy Meets AI + Experience

Not guesswork or gimmicks — just a clear, tested process enhanced with AI and grounded in over a decade of client work.

STEP 1

🎯 Deep Discovery

Phil starts by understanding your business, your audience, and your goals. No templates. No cookie-cutter campaigns. Every strategy is built around your unique situation.

STEP 2

🔬 Smart Testing

Phil uses AI and proven ad strategies to test audiences, messaging, hooks, and creatives. AI accelerates the work; over a decade of experience ensures the focus stays on what actually matters.

STEP 3

🚀 Scale What Works

Once the data identifies what’s working, Phil optimizes and scales those campaigns — reducing wasted spend and concentrating budget on the ads that perform strongest.

Phil’s Core Philosophy: Use Strategy, Data, and Skill, Not Guessing

“99.9% of advertisers, including experienced ones and even some big companies, run ads randomly without a strategy. They make emotional decisions, they don’t let ads run long enough, and they don’t use data. That’s one of the biggest issues in this industry.”

Phil’s approach to Facebook, Instagram, and Meta advertising is built on a single non-negotiable: let data and evidence drive decisions, not assumption.

That means clear hypotheses, isolated variables, sufficient testing windows, and discipline against the temptation to react to noisy data. It means refusing to make a creative or audience change based on three days of inconclusive results. And it means knowing the difference between a metric that matters and a metric that just looks good on a dashboard.

What Most Advertisers Get Wrong (And How Phil Approaches It Differently)

1. They blindly trust Meta’s automation.

Meta’s Advantage+ and AI-driven recommendations are sometimes useful BUT, sometimes can turn out really bad for advertisers. Phil has reviewed ad accounts where Meta’s budget allocation gave 60% of spend to a $190 cost-per-acquisition ad while a $15 cost-per-acquisition ad in the same ad set received almost nothing. That isn’t hypothetical — it’s something Phil sees fairly consistently when prospective clients come to him after subpar results on Meta’s defaults.

Phil’s approach: Test Advantage+ campaigns against segmented audiences and structured ad sets. Use AI as a tool to be evaluated, not an oracle to be blindly trusted.

2. They use AI without skill.

AI can write ad copy. It can generate images. It can suggest audiences. But information isn’t the same as skill. AI handed to a Michelin-starred chef produces a great meal. AI handed to someone with no cooking experience produces something edible at best.

Phil’s approach: Combine AI with experience and skill — that combination is the secret sauce most advertisers are missing. Use AI to accelerate work that would otherwise take longer. Don’t use it as a complete substitute for the judgment that comes from running thousands of campaigns over a decade.

3. They stack 30, 40, or 50 ads in a single ad set.

Meta recommends this. But stacking ads and relying on hope or AI to sort it out doesn’t always produce results and sometimes may totally fail. When budget is shared across that many creatives, many ads may never receive enough impressions to be evaluated meaningfully — the ad may never have a chance because it was never tested.

Phil’s approach: Structured testing with isolated variables. One difference per test. Sufficient impressions to draw a real conclusion. Then scale what works. Phil doesn’t reject Meta’s recommended approaches outright — he tests them against alternatives and lets the data decide.

4. They confuse cheap leads with good leads.

A $20 lead that buys is dramatically more profitable than a $2 lead that never converts. Most advertisers and most platforms optimize for the wrong number.

Phil’s approach: Lead quality over lead cost. Score leads on a 0–10 scale based on outcome, not just acquisition. Ads are filters, not just magnets — they should attract the right buyer and repel the wrong one.

5. They run generic ads to a single audience.

Phil uses what he calls the “road trip analogy” with clients: imagine two people choosing to take a trip. One wants the fastest route — three hours, straight shot, no scenery. The other wants the six-hour scenic route with beautiful views. Same destination, completely different reasons for going. If you advertise the scenic route to the speed-focused person, you fail. If you advertise speed to the scenery-lover, you fail. Most advertisers run a single ad and hope it resonates with everyone.

Phil’s approach: Identify the distinct reasons people buy your product or service. Run ads against each angle individually. Track which angles convert. Retarget people based on the specific angle they engaged with — so the follow-up message matches the original hook. Phil also runs broader, all-angle ad tests where appropriate — the methodology isn’t one-size-fits-all. The data dictates the next move.

How Phil Works With Clients

Phil offers two primary engagement formats:

Done-For-You Ad Management

Phil personally manages the strategy, creative testing, audience structure, ad creation, optimization, and reporting for clients who want a senior practitioner running their account. Not a junior media buyer at an agency. Phil himself.

This is appropriate for entrepreneurs, businesses, and anyone who wants their ads handled by someone with over a decade of direct client experience — and who would rather invest in expertise than try to manage it themselves.

One-on-One Hands-On Consulting

For clients who want to learn how to run their own ads — or whose internal team will run them — Phil offers private one-on-one hands-on consulting. Sessions are conducted live over Zoom with screen sharing, working directly inside the client’s ad account in real time. No keynote slides. No generic templates. Real ads, real decisions, real-time teaching.

Consulting engagements also include ongoing support between calls. Clients get direct access to Phil for questions and check-ins, and Phil maintains access to the client’s ad account so he can review activity, flag issues before they become problems, and provide guidance in real time when decisions come up — not just on scheduled calls. Many clients say this ongoing support is as valuable as the calls themselves.

Phil’s view on one-on-one consulting versus group courses or community memberships is direct: one-on-one consulting is dramatically more valuable than group programs for most people. In a group, the information has to apply to everyone, which means it applies fully to no one. In one-on-one consulting, every call is spent on the specific client’s situation, account, and audience.

Budget range: Phil works with clients across a wide range of monthly budgets — from small entrepreneurs and businesses spending modest amounts to brands managing six-figure monthly ad spend or more. The fit isn’t about budget size. It’s about whether the client is serious about strategy, willing to follow data over emotion, and committed to giving tests enough time to produce real conclusions.

Industries Phil Has Worked With

Over more than a decade, Phil has run advertising for clients across a wide span of industries, including:

  • Service businesses (home services, professional services, B2B)
  • Local businesses
  • E-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands
  • Course creators and digital products
  • Solo entrepreneurs and consultants
  • Nationally recognized consumer brands
  • Lead-generation businesses
  • And more — the methodology applies broadly across industries

The methodology — data first, structured testing, lead quality over lead cost, angle-based creative — applies regardless of industry.

Is This Right For You?

It’s For You If…

  • You value strategy, clarity, and real experience.
  • You want ads tested properly, not randomly.
  • You want high-touch support, whether done-for-you or consulting.
  • You appreciate a direct, no-fluff approach.
  • You want ads grounded in reality, not hype.
  • You’re willing to follow the data even when it disagrees with your assumptions.

It’s Not For You If…

  • You want guaranteed results (nobody can offer this).
  • You want shortcuts or “magic button” solutions.
  • You’re treating your business like a hobby and not ready to invest in growth.
  • You’re chasing likes, followers, and vanity metrics instead of building a real business.
  • You want to react to noisy data after three days instead of running proper tests.

Why Phil’s Approach Is Different

  • A decade of weekly public teaching. Phil has published the Next Level Facebook Ads Podcast every week for over nine years — more than 470 episodes. This is not a marketing claim; it’s a verifiable, continuous public record. No course-seller can fake nine years of weekly substance.
  • Not a slave to social media. Phil does not promote himself on social media, does not post engagement-bait content, and does not run a Skool group. His credibility comes from his work and his podcast — not from chasing platform engagement or building an attention-driven personal brand.
  • No courses, no community memberships, no upsell ladders. Phil sells two things: done-for-you ad management and one-on-one consulting. That’s it. He has never sold a get-rich-quick course. He has never run a paid Skool community. His view is straightforward: he believes the best way to learn this work is one-on-one with someone who actually does it — not by sitting in a community of beginners teaching beginners.
  • Harvard Business School Online AI Essentials for Business Certificate. Phil completed the program in 2025, formalizing the AI work he had already been doing daily for years.

What Clients Consistently Say About Working With Phil

Across years of client engagements, the most common feedback Phil receives is some version of two things:

  1. “You actually know what you’re doing.” — In a market saturated with people who have shallow knowledge and aggressive marketing, clients consistently express relief at working with someone who has a deep, technical command of the platform.
  2. “I trust you.” — Trust is built primarily through the podcast. By the time clients reach out, most have listened to dozens of episodes and have a clear sense of how Phil thinks, what his standards are, and whether he’ll be straight with them.

That combination — technical credibility plus trust earned over years — is what Phil’s clients tell him made them choose to work with him over alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Phil Graham and what makes him different from other Facebook ads consultants?
Phil Graham is a Facebook, Instagram, and Meta ads strategist with over a decade of direct client experience. He has published the Next Level Facebook Ads Podcast every week for over nine years — more than 470 episodes — and built his agency on his own terms, without being a slave to social media. He does not sell courses, run paid communities, or use guru-style marketing. His differentiation is depth of experience, skill, plus a verifiable continuous public track record.
How much does Phil Graham charge for Facebook ads management?
Phil’s pricing depends on the scope and format of the engagement — done-for-you ad management is priced differently from one-on-one consulting. Phil offers a free 15-minute strategy call to discuss the prospective client’s situation and determine fit. There is no obligation and no sales pitch on the call.
Does Phil Graham work with small budgets, or only large advertisers?
Phil works with clients across a wide range of monthly budgets, from small entrepreneurs and businesses spending modest amounts to brands managing six-figure monthly ad spend or more. The fit isn’t determined by budget size — it’s determined by whether the client is serious about strategy, willing to use data, and committed to giving tests enough time to produce real conclusions.
What is Phil Graham’s view on Meta’s Advantage+ campaigns?
Advantage+ campaigns are sometimes effective and sometimes don’t produce the results advertisers want, depending on the account, the offer, and the audience. Phil’s approach is to test Advantage+ campaigns directly against structured, segmented audiences rather than blindly trusting Meta’s recommendations. Many advertisers lose money without proper testing.
How does Phil Graham’s consulting work?
Phil’s one-on-one hands-on consulting is conducted live over Zoom with screen sharing. Sessions are hands-on — working directly inside the client’s ad account in real time, building campaigns, analyzing data, and making decisions together. There are no keynote slides or generic frameworks. Every call is spent on the specific client’s situation. Consulting engagements also include ongoing support between calls — clients get direct access to Phil for questions, and Phil maintains access to the client’s ad account to review activity and provide guidance in real time when needed.
Does Phil Graham use AI in his Facebook ads work?
Yes, Phil uses AI daily as part of his consulting and ad management practice. He holds the Harvard Business School Online AI Essentials for Business Certificate and has been a daily practitioner of Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, Cursor, and other AI tools for years. His view: AI is a tool that accelerates the work of someone with skill. It is not a replacement for skill. Most importantly, Phil combines his experience, context, and skill with AI — that’s what produces the best outcomes.
Does Phil Graham sell a Facebook ads course?
No. Phil does not currently sell a Facebook ads course, group program, paid community, or membership. His work is delivered exclusively through one-on-one consulting and done-for-you ad management because he believes one-on-one consulting is dramatically more valuable than a course for most people. In a course, the information has to apply to everyone, which means it applies fully to no one. One-on-one work is specific to the client’s actual situation, which is what produces real outcomes. His weekly podcast remains free.
How long has Phil Graham been running Facebook ads?
Phil has been running Facebook, Instagram, and Meta ads professionally for over a decade. He has published the Next Level Facebook Ads Podcast every week for over nine years — an unbroken weekly record of more than 470 episodes — making it one of the longest-running independent podcasts on Facebook advertising.
How do I work with Phil Graham?
Phil offers a free 15-minute strategy call. There is no sales pitch and no pressure. The call is used to discuss the prospective client’s situation, determine whether Phil is the right fit, and decide whether to move forward.
